  49. The world is covered in fog. Most who enter the fog disappear, and
  50. those who survive say it brings their nightmares to life.
  52. No-one knows where it came from, but they all have ideas. Some say
  53. it's an experiment gone wrong, others believe it's divine
  54. judgement. And you? All you know is that the Sun is rumoured to
  55. shine just over the horizon.
  57. You are The Engineer. You have designed the perfect system: a
  58. train, sealed off from the fog, ready to rescue survivors and take
  59. them to salvation.
  61. If only they'd listen...
  64. Fear Equation is a turn-based strategy game where you must take
  65. control of a modified freight train in an end-of-the-world
  66. scenario. The landscape has been overrun by a thick, deadly fog
  67. that manifests the nightmares of those inside it. Your survival
  68. depends on tactical planning and careful resource management.
  70. As the Engineer, you'll need to rescue survivors, analyse their
  71. dreams and build defenses to protect them from their own
  72. imaginations. Complicating matters, passengers have their own
  73. theories as to how the fog was created and will form inter-carriage
  74. factions based on their beliefs.
  76. Every game is unique and you can customise your Engineer to
  77. dramatically change how the game is played.
  80. Your passengers bring their nightmares with them. When the fog
  81. attacks, it will make their worst fears come alive. Read your
  82. passengersĺ dream logs to help prepare defenses.
  85. The train needs resources and there's only one way to get them:
  86. send your passengers back out into the fog. Listen to radio
  87. broadcasts for hints and equip your scavengers well. But donĺt stay
  88. too long because theyĺll disappear into the fog.
  91. Passengers will group into four factions based on where they think
  92. the fog came from. Different factions are associated with different
  93. nightmares, skills and concerns. Youĺll need to maximise their
  94. talents, handle their disputes and meet their needs.
  97. Create your own Engineer with special modifiers - both good and bad
  98. - that determine your individual train's starting conditions,
  99. overall difficulty and the different courses the game can take.
  100. Personalise your Engineer further by importing photos of yourself
  101. (or others) for use with your character.
  104. Populate your train with passengers of your own design using the
  105. custom passenger creator. Name, vital statistics, occupation,
  106. factional tendencies and influence can all be modified. As with
  107. Engineer customisation, you can import photos from outside the game
  108. to give each passenger a life of their own.
  111. Explore a richly detailed 3D cabin and interact with computers,
  112. train controls, maps and consoles. All interaction points feature
  113. an in-game manual so youĺll never get lost.
