  17. Aethera. This vast and dense nebula spans almost half of
  18. Porphyria. The sheer number of powerful anomalies and
  19. highly erratic deadly discharges caused by the strange
  20. nebula makes this area almost impossible to traverse
  21. Several years ago, NeoPhysics scientists investigated
  22. the region and established a research facility in an
  23. abandoned Nexus installation called Kepler Station
  24. Immediately after NeoPhysics started their work in
  25. Aethera, all hell broke loose. A series of rift
  26. detonations shook Aethera and the number of anomalies
  27. multiplied exponentially. Nexus officially denied any
  28. connection to the research taking place on Kepler and
  29. withdrew all personnel from Porphyria. The destiny of
  30. Kepler Station isn't clear, even to this day. With the
  31. exception of the so-called Ghosts, and rare, but
  32. audacious traders, no one travels through Aethera any
  33. more. Standard shields are simply not strong enough to
  34. withstand the violent disturbances. However, recent
  35. reports have surfaced, indicating that Kepler Station is
  36. still operational. Moreover, rumors suggest that the
  37. NeoPhysics team have developed some amazing technology
  38. during their long isolation in the nebula. More than a
  39. few expeditions were sent into Aethera to verify this
  40. but none came back
