OK so there are 3 way’s you can read comic books on the iPhone or iPod touch.

 

You could download the app for the comic book that you want to read.

You could scan the comic, then but all the jpg’s into the iPhone or iPod touch photo library. And you can read them. But what happens if somone borrow’s you’re iPhone looks at the pictures and finds out you’re a big comic book nerd because you have all the issues of Superman in there.

You could scan the comic, put it in a folder, compress into zip, rename it to cbz, convert the cbz with Jomic into pdf, connect to you’re iPhone using Air Sharing. And copy the PDF, to it’s respective folder, open the file  and you have a comic book reader.

 

Confused, let me explain.

 

As of today there are a lot of comic books in the app store. Some cost money other’s don’t.   Let’s say you want to read a comic book that is in the app store. Well just buy it or download it install it and you’re on you’re way to reading comic books.

 

Ok let’s say you have a comic book or manga that you really like and want to put it in you’re iPhone. Well you could scan the comic, or manga (Download it). And place all the Jpegs. Into an iPhoto album, and sync it to you’re iPhone. That’s cool and all, put let’s say you wanted a little bit more privacy. Maybe you have adult (Hentai) comic books or manga. Or you just don’t want people knowing about you’re addiction for Superman comic books.

 

Well it’s a little bit more complicated but I’m going to show how.

Scan the comic book, maybe you already have the jpegs in a folder. Next Compress the file into a zip. Then rename into a cbz. Then open Jomic (Link in the sidebar), click cancel, then use the shorcut. Command+Shift+C Or File, Convert. Click add, search for the file, or just drag and drop it, and it will locate it automatically. In the format’s choose PDF click the 3 points. Choose where you want the file to end up. In this case I’m going to choose the desktop. And click convert, wait for the file to convert. And In Finder. Click Go, and Connect to server or Command K. You need Air Sharing btw. (oops) It cost’s 4.99 or if you’re willing to dish out 9.99. For the Pro version go ahed. But if you want free. Go For Discovery, You know what Fuck Air Sharing, it’s slow and it takes years to read a pdf in there. So don’t even buy it. Download Discovery it’s free and runs much faster. Besides do you prefer this (Discovery) To this (Air Sharing)
