  24. Installation Information:

  27. INFO: This is a standalone release giving access to both Wings of Liberty
  28. as well as Heart of the Swarm
  30. DISCLAIMER: Since parts of this solution requires online activity and
  31. updating the game we can't promise that this solution will work with
  32. future updates.
  35. HOW TO INSTALL
  37. 1) Unrar, burn or mount ISO
  38. 2) Install the game while online, when asked to Activate select "I've
  39. Already Activated"
  42. HOW TO TO PLAY OFFLINE
  44. Run \Fairlight\flt-sc2hots.exe on the DVD, it must run with administrator
  45. priviledges. (you may need to temporarily disable any anti-virus software
  46. or similar you have)
  49. STEP 1: UPDATE STARCRAFT 2 TO LATEST VERSION
  51. This step you must execute manually.
  53. Let the game update to latest version (2.0.6.25180 at the time of writing
  54. this)
  56. Once game is fully updated (you will see the message 'Game is up to date')
  57. you must press 'Play' and enter the game once to complete the
  58. installation, if you forget to do this you WONT be able to play offline
  59. afterwards. You dont need to do anything once inside, just look at the
  60. impressive Battle.net login prompt and then exit by pressing Escape.
  63. STEP 2: BLOCK SC2.EXE IN WINDOWS FIREWALL
  65. We assume you are using Windows Firewall as your firewall and of course
  66. also that it is Enabled.
  68. Hit the Step2-button and the tool will block 'SC2.exe' in your Windows
  69. Firewall.
  72. STEP 3: COPY FILES
  74. Hit the Step3-button and wait for a little while, this will deploy the
  75. battle.net cache files.
  78. STEP 4: GENERATE LICENSE
  80. Hit the Step4-button and your license is generated and deployed to the
  81. windows registry.
  84. STEP 5: PLAY!
  86. Hit the Step5-button and the tool will launch StarCraft 2 and then shut
  87. itself down.
  89. When you see the 'Connecting to streaming server...' dialog just hit
  90. 'Cancel', this happens because of the firewall block.
  92. Once inside enter '[email protected]' as your BATTLE.NET ACCOUNT NAME and
  93. hit 'CONNECT'.
  95. The connection will fail but you will be offered to 'PLAY OFFLINE'.
  97. NOTE:
  98. Once you have everything running you should consider making a desktop
  99. shortcut directtly to \Support\SC2Switcher.exe, this seems to bypass the
  100. Blizzard Launcher and should keep you safe from potential fun-ruining
  101. future updates.
