This is the official document outlining the responsibilities and expectations of ops on #pesterchum on irc.esper.net, the official channel for Andrew Hussie's MS Paint Adventures. 1. Friendship is paramount. Your job as an op isn't your main responsibility when in #pesterchum, it's to be part of the community. Don't let the fact that you can kick and ban and set the topic get in the way of the fact that you're here to talk with people and make friends. 2. MSPA is a vibrant community of which #pesterchum is but a very small part. You are encouraged to be as active as possible on the fora. Having an account on the fora is a must at minimum, and regularly checking it so that Chumsters can easily contact you there is crucial. But go further than that --- post! 3. Remember that [zz] (xyzzy on the fora) is the direct line of communication between you and the admins. He can't always be around, so reporting issues that come up to him is the best way to guarantee that they get dealt with thoroughly. This is only necessary in situations where someone does something that might have an impact on the fora, such as behavior that might merit disciplinary action there, though; you were made an op because it's believed that you can handle the job without having your hand held through it. 4. Don't be afraid to take action when it's needed, but don't be too quick to take it unnecessarily. 5. If possible, please keep logs at all times that you're here; your IRC client should be able to do that. For that reason, you're encouraged to use a real client, not mibbit or another web client. 6. Please try to be present as much as possible, and let [zz] know if you'll be gone. |
