  30.
  31. Black Ice is the upcoming fifteenth studio album by
  32. Australian hard rock band AC/DC, set to be released on
  33. October 18, 2008 for Australia and October 20 for the
  34. rest of the world. It will be their first album in eight
  35. years, since the release of Stiff Upper Lip in 2000, the
  36. longest gap between AC/DC's studio albums to date. The
  37. album was produced by Brendan O'Brien and recorded and
  38. mixed by Mike Fraser at The Warehouse Studio in
  39. Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
  40.
  41. In a 2004 interview, Brian Johnson revealed that for the
  42. first time since the 1988 album Blow Up Your Video, he
  43. would be handling lyrics. He also said that Angus Young
  44. has written harder riffs than those on Stiff Upper Lip.
  45.
  46. As of January 2006, AC/DC were working on the album, and
  47. according to Malcolm Young at that time, "The band are
  48. currently writing and recording material for the eagerly
  49. anticipated next album, but no release date has been
  50. set."
  51.
  52. In April 2008, AC/DC's official website confirmed the
  53. release of the new album with producer Brendan O'Brien
  54. and audio engineer Mike Fraser, but did not confirm a
  55. release date.
  56.
  57. In June 2008, Reuters reported that the album would be
  58. distributed solely by Wal-Mart stores in the United
  59. States, and that HMV stores in Canada were advertising
  60. the album with an October release date.
  61.
  62. On August 15, AC/DC recorded the video to accompany the
  63. first single from the album, "Rock 'n Roll Train", in
  64. London. Three days later, an announcement was made on the
  65. band's official website, stating that Black Ice would be
  66. released on October 20, 2008.
  67.
  68. "Rock n' Roll Train" was released on August 28. The video
  69. of "Rock n' Roll Train" appeared on the band's website on
  70. September 19. That day also saw the release of the
  71. album's second single, "War Machine", and the release of
  72. a brief appraisal of the album by Rolling Stone magazine,
  73. citing that "Brian wails about skies on fire, blood in
  74. his eyes, storms raging, lightning flashes, hard rain and
  75. pretty women...Angus Young shreds throughout...Malcom
  76. Young, Cliff Williams and Phil Rudd รน are solid as a
  77. rock." as well as making a surprise statement that Angus
  78. Young uses a slide in the song "Stormy May Day". The
  79. magazine also named several tracks before the official
  80. release of the track listing.
  81.
  82. Several days after the original version of the album was
  83. made available for pre-order, the band's website store
  84. listed two variations of cover artwork available for the
  85. CD in addition to the original red logo. These were a
  86. yellow logo and a silver logo. All three versions feature
  87. the exact same music and content with a black background.
  88. However, the gray designs behind the band's logo are
  89. different on each of the two different covers. There is
  90. also a hardcover Deluxe Edition (blue logo) available
  91. which will contain a 30-page booklet with exclusive new
  92. illustrations, studio and live photographs of AC/DC.

  95. A Slight note for BPM: it's not our fault if you're
  96. famous for reencodes etc.
  97. Just look at your past, and you will find out you are
  98. pathetic.
