  29. SnapShot is disk imaging software that enables the
  30. user to back up, restore and view backed up hard
  31. disk data, easily and safely. Using WindowsNT driver
  32. technology, Snapshot brings two new features to disk
  33. imaging:
  35. 1. Snapshot Backup - create disk images while
  36. Windows is running. This allows the user to work in
  37. his usual environment when backing up his data. Any
  38. device suitable for file storage can be used for the
  39. image destination, like your local drive, a network
  40. drive or any removable drive. And - most important -
  41. the image will be an industrial quality image, even
  42. though WinNT constantly writes to the disk. The user
  43. may continue to work normally, while a backup
  44. operation is in progress; the image will still be
  45. valid and consistent. This enables one of the most
  46. important things in backup business: backup often.
  47. It is even possible to make an image backup for
  48. servers, that must be online 24 hours a day.
  50. Snapshot Backup - Main use. Snapshot Backup is aimed
  51. at the backup/disaster recovery market. There is
  52. little use for on the fly disk image creation, if
  53. you want to deploy hundreds or thousands of
  54. workstations. We think however, that the possibility
  55. to do on the fly backup is very important for the
  56. end user to regularly protect his data. At least,
  57. this was our reason to create Snapshot. No need to
  58. shut down and boot from floppy, no need to create
  59. network disks, and no need to wait half an hour for
  60. the backup process - we think that's nice.
  62. 2. Snapshot View - Explore saved disk images the
  63. friendly way. The image file is presented to the
  64. user as a virtual drive. This virtual drive can be
  65. used like any other drive, using any Windows
  66. program, be it Explorer, Norton Commander, or your
  67. favourite MP3 Player.
  69. Snapshot View - Main use. Snapshot View is a very
  70. easy and powerful method to explore disk images.
  71. This technique could be easily adapted to disk
  72. images created by other disk imaging programs.

  77. The Backup process will back up all your data into
  78. a single file, containing all data, including
  79. system data and registry, for total security,
  80. should your computer ever crash. There is no
  81. restart (to DOS) necessary. Ever.

  84. progress. The new Snapshot technology ensures that
  85. all data are consistent, and reflect the PC's data
  86. at the start of backup. There are no difficulties
  87. with opened files. Ever. This enables a very fast

  91. * Easy Use and Restore of single Files or
  92. directories. Drive Snapshot creates a virtual
  93. drive, containing all your drive's data. You may
  94. use, compare, or restore these files directly from
  95. the Disk Image file. This works with any program
  96. of your choice, including (of course) the Windows
  97. Explorer.
  99. * Complete Restore of a disk in case of Disaster. If
  100. a disk is restored to its original state, it will
  101. be exactly the same as at the time of Backup -
  102. byte for byte. Restoring a system partition will
  103. require DOS; other drives can be restored using
  104. Windows.
  106. * Compatible with all Windows file systems (FAT16,
  107. FAT32, NTFS). Supports Linux EXT2/3/4/Reiser.
  109. * Compatible with all Windows RAID Methods.
