1. Tournament Houserules
  2. Generally, if you and your opponent agree to your own interpretation of some rule, or you want to have some special condition on your match, that's up to you two. It's your fight! You play by your rules. Use these houserules for when you disagree.
  3. General
  4. 1) Target Zone Modifiers and 0 BS Parries [Handguards] will be used as written.
  5. 2) By default, every weapon and shield you have on you will count against your weight. If your opponent agrees, you can both discard unwanted equipment before the fight begins. If they don't agree, you're stuck with it. Carry excessive equipment at your own risk. You're putting your encumbrance in their hands.
  6. Character creation specifics
  7. 1) No orichalcum or silversteel weapons/armor.
  8. 2) No electrified Burdinadin weapons.
  9. 3) No guns, but having things to Weapon Throw is fine, as is using a gun strictly as a melee weapon.
  10. 4) You can be any race up to t3. You can be a t4 or t5 race but you can't use any of their special powers. No eye lasers, smiting god fire, icecream smoothie sword slashes, blood magic or vampire undead nonsense.
  11. 5) Custom Grip can only improve one quality once, i.e. grabbing both tight grip and draw is fine. Grabbing tight grip twice is not.
  12. Maneuvers & Talents
  13. 1) Slowpoke only works if the following are all true:
  14. The spear is not under the effects of Beat, Shield Beat, or Shield Bind
  15. The current range of combat is at least as long as the spear's reach,
  16. The attack would take you to a range shorter than the spear's reach
  17. 2) Slowpoke and The Spear that Pierced the Sky work together as follows: the attack's range cost is doubled, and Slowpoke adds one to that total.
  18. In mathy language: Let R be the range cost in dice. Then R |--> 2R+1.
  19. 3) Defensive Disarm is changed to RS = BS, down from RS = BS+2.
  20. 4) You can use Superior versions of unarmed maneuvers if you know them through Pugilism or Wrestling even when you are not using Pugilism or Wrestling. For example, if you know Superior Kick but are using the Spear proficiency, you can still perform a Superior Kick.
  21. 5)If you Default to Pugilism or Wrestling, you don't get any Superior maneuvers from them.
  22. 6) Unarmed damage against soft armor resolves against AVB. Against Hard armor, it resolves against AVB+4.
  23. 7) Because Superior versions of maneuvers are Advanced, Specialist reduces the activation cost of Superior versions of maneuvers only. Good Form reduces the cost of both versions. Be aware of this when fighting Esoteric schools!
