Why you should visit Vancouver Island NOW

Travelling from the reduced mainland of BC on the gorgeous Vancouver Island, travellers have numerous choices on the best way to get there, depending of course on just where they want to be every time they end up on the Island. I've sailed on BC Ferries from Tsawassan Terminal to Swartz Bay, as I was looking to go to the Capital City of Victoria and last week, I sailed from Horseshoe Bay at least to Duke Point in Nanaimo as that has been my chosen destination for that particular journey. On both instances I have to say I found the Ferries to be great value. They're all very comfortable, nicely equipped and basically have something for everybody to pass their time during the two hour trip.

For those who would like to get there faster or even maybe are a little more wealthy, you can select from a range of minute float planes which fly continually back and forth to various destinations on the Island. For a bit more money, you are able to even opt to fly by helicopter if that's the reason why you tick. For me, the thought associated with a short sea voyage in itself provides a thrill and naturally, several subdued thoughts of the prominent Titanic on its fateful maiden voyage. Seriously, we have advanced considerably in technology since those times and BC Ferries are a sound example of today's maritime engineering. En-route for any Island by ferry, there are many sights to see and many pictures well worth taking with the digital camera of yours. For any fortunate travellers, it's apparently a regular occurrence to visit a school of Whales as they travel down in between the Gulf Islands and the Georgia Straight on their way to far off places. Furthermore, depending on what time of day you choose to travel, you can savour the chance to see some of the most tremendous and awe inspiring sunsets you are more likely to find wherever. Normally, I try to time my return journey back to the mainland to coincide with the sunset time and this way, I can capture a new range of pictures and countless shades of colour with the camera of mine.

In case you're in no great hurry to get to Vancouver Island, after that for my buck the ferries are surely the best option. From the second to arrive at what actually Terminal you decide to depart from, they are really well organized and almost regimental in all they do to help make your trip less stressful.
