A Historical Journey To The Past Newbridge Village

Newbridge is really a small tourist village within the Central West of NSW that welcomes visitors and campers. Newbridge was founded like a gold mining town, the Post Office opening on 1 February 1856. Newbridge village developed throughout the railway line and station which was built in 1876. Newbridge can be a popular camping and fishing location with campsites available along the river. A point of pride for that town, the city have kept the structure beautifully maintained, and Newbridge has won numerous awards for just one of the most useful presented stations within the state.

The Newbridge Winter Solstice is often a day of medieval magic and music. It takes place all the time (closed for your occasion) and also on the Gladstone Green. The entertainment has contains magic shows, Viking fighting displays in the afternoon (from Iron Fest participants), food stalls, Morris Dancers, many market stalls, two bands (one in the afternoon and another to the night), horse display, street entertainment as well as other activities for that younger people. There is going to be drink available from the Gladstone Hotel (Strong Ale, Draft Guinness and other merry-making fortifications at the same time!). There will likely be ample food to match everyone (vegetarians included) from food stalls also as the Pub. Most people will be dressed in Medieval Costume to include in the merriment.

The highlight of a special afternoon festivities will probably be the lighting and burning in the Wickerman around the large bonfire at 5pm. People are asked to buy small Wickermen earlier, write their problems for the tag and later throw them about the fire to have them burnt away!
