  166. Install eb3_setup.exe. After installation copy precracked exe
  167. from the Crack folder to the installed folder of Eschalon: Book
  168. III, making sure to overwrite the existing file. You now have a
  169. fully registered RETAIL version of Eschalon: Book III!
  171. IMPORTANT NOTE:
  173. If you go changing the settings and notice next time you start
  174. the game you get Windows exception EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION
  175. then go and delete the file:
  177. C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Basilisk Games\Book 3 Saved
  178. Games\eb3.cfg
  180. This is not due to the crack (same issue with original exe) but
  181. the audio driver settings in cfg. Basically if you choose an
  182. audio setting not supported/installed on your system, it will
  183. be stuck in this loop of crashing (ON NEXT START OF THE GAME),
  184. even if you choose the correct driver after. Just delete the
  185. file, as stated above, and restart game and your fine.
  186. Recommended to only use DirectSound.
